Introduction
Library Wars is based on the Japanese light novel series by Hiro Arikawa, published between February 2006 and November 2007. As of April 2008, the original four novels and first volume of the spin-off series have sold over 1.25 million copies in Japan. It won the 2008 Seiun Award for Japanese long fiction in the fourth Japan Science Fiction convention. In 2007, two different manga adaptations: Library Wars: Love & War by Kiiro Yumi (serialized in female orientated magazine Lala), and Library Wars: Spitfire! by Yayoi Furudori (serialized in male-orientated magazine Dengeki Daioh) were published. Subsequently, an anime television series adaptation (2008) and anime film adaptation (2012) were released.
Synopsis
In 2019, public anger at media excess has led to censorship of television, newspapers, the internet, books, movies, and music under the ‘Media Betterment Act’. To fight the armed ‘Betterment Squads’ that go around destroying objectionable materials, the nation’s libraries have formed their own para-military ‘Library Defense’. Iku Kasahara (Nana Eikura) is a new recruit to the corps, where her instructor and squad leader is Atsushi Dojo (Junichi Okada). At first repelled by his by-the-book approach to leadership, she is gradually won over by his commitment to their battle for ‘books’ and ‘the freedom to know.’

Review : It was really an awesome movie! Something different from the usual movie where the scenes are something that i am not familiar with...its like army training ;o All the efforts and the amount of blood shed to protect history etc... The dream of Kasahara's prince charming~ How she join the library in hope of meeting him one day, wanting to be like him... It really touches me a lot how one determination to protect another...for friends, for love, for future, for freedom etc Who says this movie with all the wars and battling looks like its only for guys? Watch it and you will say its not!

I want to win a pair of tickets because as a librarian in my primary school days, I can understand the sense of peace and knowledge that a library can instill.
