Synopsis
Set in the island Kinmen, often seen as the most dangerous military base because it is geographically close to China, Paradise In Service follows the adventure of a boy who serves his military service in Unit 831 from 1969 to 1972, in preparation for a war that could erupt anytime.
Through an unlucky lottery draw result, Pao, a twenty-something young man from Southern Taiwan has to serve the military in the remote and perilous Kinmen. Moreover, he is assigned to the Sea Dragon (ARB), a unit known for the toughest physical training. It never occurs to Pao that the greatest challenge is not his military training but a special task he is later appointed to. In this peculiar assignment, Pao vows to keep his virginity against all odds.
Elizabeth and Maro went for Ethan Ruan's Press Conference in Singapore. Elizabeth is super looking forward as she likes Ethan's acting a lot.

Question time and Elizabeth was super happy to be the only one selected by Ethan!
The media start dashing forward and Ethan couldn't see Elizabeth >_< Luckily the camera men noticed and end up clearing the path where Elizabeth and Ethan can talk properly with eye contact. He seems so serious and sincere when reply Elizabeths question.
What question? Well, after watching the makings and more behind the scenes for the movie, being away for so long with an island with poor connectivity, missing home and love ones(Director banned visitors on the set), I guess it must be pretty tough. Thus Elizabeth asked Ethan what was it that kept him pushing though all the tough scenes, what factor/person/matter made him pushes thru each of those. His reply was that is definitely wasn't easy, and neither does anyone wants to retake, seeing himself being surrounded by everyone who is also biting it thru, those made him pushes and go on. There are times when it goes on too hard, he will cry under his blanket at night.

Review - Ethan! Haha ops...Coughs. His eyes are so cute and really 咪咪眼! He's pretty tall and skinny in real life. Laughs easily and have makes one draws to him without any air of arrogant. Meeting a star and listening to all the things he shared about the movie really makes one feel so different that just watching a good movie. He can bring you in depth about the movie and characters easily. I took so many videos of him sharing his views and thoughts about this movie. He was pretty shy when the media's attention turned to his bed scenes. Like he said, 演员是为剧本而服务, he's really professional.

Zhou gave a few teasing here and there about this movie. Feeding those screaming fans what they wanna hear.
Some cheers from us crowd and off to the cinema we go~ It was really nice to see a small reception of food and drinks for us before the show starts. As we were waiting for the show to start, we were surprised with Ethan, running into the theater and coming upclose for more questions and group selfie! The theatre is so big and he ran from corner to corner~
Review - I really appreciate the sets and buildings brought together for this movie. So much efforts were poured in. They reconstructed the buildings, and revamped the roads, I hope they leave it that way. Given the nature of the movie, a lot of actors were required, no matter how small a role, selecting every single actors take 7-8 months! I love how they used colourful lighting to give the scenes a different historical touch at the brothel. I very sure every elderly Taiwanese can related to the tough days back then where they had to protect 金门 as it was the most front barrier nearest to China. Everyday you have to make decisions, and each decision will bring forth different endings, you may like some, you may regret some, do value the people around you as they may not be around always.
