Artnia Cafe Square Enix

We arrived at the Artnia Cafe! It was a short walk from the Shinjuku station. There was a queue  about 5-7 groups in front of us and we put our names in the waiting list. It was slightly harder to get a table. Their tables were mostly in 2s, or bigger tables in 6s. We took some pictures while waiting, and looked around the cafe~~
Lots of official merchandise~~

Chocobo & Cactuar plushies spotted!
Character Cookies!
And Materia Chocolate that looks really amazing!

So many other plushies, and Dragon quest slimes!
Next we walked into a mini exhibition with cool artefacts for sale~
Figurines too~
And collaboration Figurines~
And the breath taking  Materia fountain . It was really beautiful!
There was a queue, finally we got ourselves bar seats, which was cool as we get to see the drinks prepared infront of us.
Our table~
Here comes the Food!
Rice with Shrimp! ¥820
Pizza ~¥900
(Set drink + ¥300) on top of your mains
Macha Parfait with Yuffie's Shuriken ~¥930
Caramel Cappucino ¥620 with Chocobo Latte Art!
Chocolate Pancake ¥930 With Chocobo's face (:
Strawberry Pancake ¥980 with Moogle's face
The cafe art is selected at random, so sometimes you may get other characters' too.
One of the things that intrigued me was the amount of Japanese housewives in the cafe.
I would say 90% of the customers were housewives with lots of bags and they occupy a large seating.
Even though its just a few of them.
Also, they tend to eat slow or leave huge portions of their food untouched for a long time.
I mean such themed cafes, bound to have many people queuing at the peaks, but they seemed unabashed to be seating for a long period of time.
They probably had too much time to spend while their kids are in school, and its not dinner time.
It was until the waitor, had to repeatedly ask them to start on their food, then they started eating and eventually left.

That aside, the savoury food was quite decent! The pizza was delicious, and the cheese was really thick and chewy in a good way.
The desserts were really good too~ Probably due to milk products from Japan so the waffle tasted fluffier and the cream was smooth and blended well with the chocolate/ strawberry.
The small prints of chocobo or moogle made us really happy.
I couldn't bear to finish the pancake and I ate around the corners with Chocobo's face intact.
..Until the last bite when I ate the whole face in a gulp :p
