The pop-up store will stay for a period of 9 months starting 17th Dec 2018 till 31 Aug 2019! It is a multi-sensory platform tgat transforms throughtout the period, showcasing various unique Japanese theme and displays. Focusing on "Experience", "Sustainbility" and "Community", the concept store will be inviting local and Japanese renowned artists, craftmen, designers and even chefs to make special appearances about every 3 weeks and share their insights, while engaging the public.

Through this project, JR East hopes to create a new kind of interactive space for the daily commuters. Their main focus is not just about selling Japanese food and merchandise, but more of inspiration by using their time to experience it.

Kicking off with the "Love forest" theme, the featured operating partner Happo-en will produce free workshops designed by Ms Yuna Tanaka, and aspiring contemporary artist from Hiroshima City University. One can learn how to make special wooden Christmas ornaments using Japanese Kumiko (interlocking joint-wood) technique.
