Kinosaki Onsen with JR West Wide Area Pass

Kinosaki Onsen is 2.5 hrs away from Kyoto, a place not to be missed for a day trip. Kinosaki Onsen is built around the idea that the entire town is one large ryokan - traditional Japanese inn. There are 7 hot spring bathhouses placed within walking distance of each other, from the “entrance” or the train station to the back of the town it takes only 20 minutes to walk. A beautiful walk through the town streets aka “hallways” in your ryokan yukata is unforgettable, as you pass by other guests also dressed in yukata of various colors and prints.

An advantage that Kinosaki Onsen has over other hot spring towns is that it has multiple and distinctive bathhouses with natural hot spring waters, that are all centrally located, getting to each one on foot or geta is no problem. In addition, you can spend an entire day or two traversing the entire town only in your yukata.
If I come 2-3 weeks later, they are suppose to look like this~
Or like this if you come during winter~
With the Kansai Wide Area pass, one can visit all these places for 5 days! For more info, Click Here
To safe your hassle, you can also get them from NTA (Click Here), that is based in Singapore, they helped me with my 1001 questions!

Since I have this pass, I will want to plan places that I have not been to before. I went to have a quick google search on all the stops and Kinosakionsen sort of blew my mind away~

It is really convenient when you have the JR West Wide Area Pass~ I dont need to check the price for one way tickets or how many trains I need to change to reach my destination. Usually Shinkansen rides are already included, so it save me a lot of stress, time and money!

As I sit back and relax, tried this higher grade Mentaiko Onigiri, it is SO GOOD!
It is a good thing that the weather if perfect for a day trip for me~
I have arrived at Kinosaki Onsen!
Once you tap your card/ticket, there is a souvenir shop! These are really beautiful!

Kinosaki Onsen is also a place famous for crabs~ Check out the iconic statue!
Hot Spring drinking water is available~
There are many little cute shops along the strolling street right outside the station exit.

Crab is everywhere~
 Seafood for cooking~
A place for fruits and vegetables~

Taking a break here for some crabs~
Ate some crab and they are really juicy and sweet!
These are chopstick rest, they are so cute but also expensive >__<

Here you get to try boiled eggs that is cooked with the hot spring water
I thought it is a sunny day, I regret wearing so thin, I am freezing!
The trees look so dry...
Spring is in the air~
It is a very woody town, most of the buildings here all look like this one~
There are some light colored woody ones too~

The sakura trees are not blooming yet~
If you come at the right seasons, there will be fireflies too!
Somehow it look a little creepy here with no other humans and its turning dark~ So we decided to walk another lane instead~

Yes it is actually very beautiful in the evening as well, however do note that almost all the shops there closes at 5pm~
It ends a day trip with a stroll back to the station~
I will not recommend staying the night over, because it is actually quite pricey and nothing much left to do after 5pm~
Somebody either let it free or it break free~ This is the ONLY koi we saw!
It is very big, and the only one we ever saw while we walk back the path~
Already so dark but its only 6 plus~
Taking the train back to Osaka late (again) with my JR pass, where I will be staying for the night!
We are back in Osaka, it was really late~
Recommended to me by Nishina san!
It is indeed very nice! Always trust a chef's recommendation, especially if its his hometown~
Cute desserts at the convenient store nearby~
Got this drink cos I love kinako~
There will be a video done of me at Kinosaki Onsen coming on my Youtube channel (LINK), stayed tuned for them, and subscribe if you haven~ Tomorrow will be a crazy schedule for me as I travel Osaka-Kobe-Kyoto-Nara in a day! Thank god I have the JR pass, stay tuned!
